Attitude Is Always The Thing

I've been wanting to have an earlobe piercing foe the longest time and today, on the eve of my birthday, I've decided to go out to have one finally - as a gift for myself too. Earlier, I did all the arrangements, talked to the piercing shop owner and agreed that I'll do a walk-in by their shop.

Immediately I've prepared myself to go to the shop, booked a grab and all that so I came to the indicated address on the shop. Upon getting in there, the house seemed so empty so I've contacted the owner of the shop out of confusion as to where the shop might really be located. Upon my surprise, I was given this text message: "Get it somewhere else." and I was like angered by the statement after all the time and money spent just to go there and to have my ear pierced so I replied "Thank for wasting my time" and then blocked him on Facebook so that I can be spared of the drama.

Now, this person contacted me on IG direct and said some really bad words to me. He was accusing me of indecisiveness, redundancy and this person even accused me of being a creep and an ass for sending a photo of his house on him. He also told me that he has a good rapport towards his clients and that I'm NOT a loss. I was enraged by the statements because that was my first time, in my entire life to have been given such remarks. I replied on the message stating the fact that it is his faulty auto-response chatbot that led me to that address and I've also expressed my dismay for his bad remarks about me, that I am a person with dignity and I am a professional in my field and a part of the academe and I'm not interested about his personal life; I just want to have a piercing on my birthday. The conversation ended after that.

In a world full of competition especially in the SME's or the self-employed sphere, attitude will be a great asset to success. In my experience today, I realized one thing, people are easily corrupted by their entitlement because nobody will be able to give them that recognition. This person that I've dealt has an ego and that ego feeds his imaginary feat of fame, but if we will critically think about it, everyone can become a piercer, all you have to learn are the proper ways of doing it - no glorifications needed.

Attitude is always the thing in every aspect of our lives. Don't let our ego ruin everything. Your being good at something will be useless if you do not learn how to give respect to your clients and to everyone that you meet, it will show your persona, unfortunately, not on the good one. Respect others and they'll respect you without you begging for it.
